Renovation of a hostel in Mallorca

Forenna Hostel

We enjoyed this project immensely because of our passion for hotels. The conversion of this 1960s hostel into a new, bright, youthful hostel with a similar business line to a hotel: private rooms but with shared bathrooms.

There was a tight budget and the goal was to carry out an interior renovation without incurring significant construction costs.

The common areas and entrance of a hotel are the first spaces a guest sees upon arrival; that, as we call the "sense of arrival," should be striking.

The opening of the door to the outside through a paneled wrought iron enclosure and the high ceilings, simply accented with a touch of color, have been the two main points of the common areas, creating an open space where guests can enjoy themselves.

Custom-made furniture has been essential in the rooms, using simple, functional pieces made from local materials such as wood and wrought iron.

They have played with leaving certain elements like the wardrobes, covering them, and the sinks in the bedrooms, keeping them but equipping them with accessories.

The shared bathrooms have been completely renovated, creating a complete bathroom with all the necessary details to feel at home.
