Comprehensive renovation OF APARTMENT FACING THE SEA

R6/PLMNV

AN apartment open to the Mediterranean

This project was born with a clear premise: open the home to the sea and let the light become the true protagonist. This is the transformation of an original apartment with a compartmentalized distribution, where the rooms were narrow and poorly connected, into an open, bright space with a marked Mediterranean character.

The intervention focuses on giving a second life to the home, maintaining the original structure of bedrooms and bathroom, but completely rethinking the day area to make the most of the sea views. The decompartmentalization of the space, together with a new kitchen layout, allows the creation of a continuous and larger environment, where the living room and kitchen dialogue with the large front window.

The project uses the color blue as a common thread throughout the home, evoking the exterior landscape and reinforcing the connection with the sea. This is combined with terracotta touches that provide warmth and generate contrast, creating a balanced and welcoming atmosphere.

A hall that anticipates the Mediterranean calm

The entrance to the apartment is conceived as a first declaration of intentions. A small hall cabinet welcomes the space, providing functional support without visually overloading the environment. Next to it, a custom-made entrance closet is designed that is completely integrated, solving storage from the first moment.

This space already introduces the color palette of the project, with nods in blue tones and warm materials that anticipate the Mediterranean atmosphere of the rest of the home. A light, functional and serene entrance that accompanies the transition to the day area.

The jewel of the apartment: living room and kitchen open to the sea

The main intervention is concentrated in the day area, where you go from a narrow, closed kitchen to an open space completely integrated with the living room. The kitchen is relocated to optimize distribution and gain spaciousness, configuring itself as a linear front that organizes the space.

The design is resolved with two blocks of columns that frame the central work area, generating a balanced and functional composition. On this same front there is a small breakfast area, designed for daily use. The furniture is made in a bluish green tone that reflects the maritime landscape and reinforces the Mediterranean character of the complex.

The living room is articulated around this new distribution, creating a comfortable and bright space, where each piece of furniture is integrated naturally. It is decided to replace the traditional coffee table with a custom puff, more flexible and visually lighter, which allows you to support a tray and adapt to different uses. The dining area, with table and chairs, is located next to the façade to take advantage of the entry of natural light.

A renovated bathroom where everything is integrated

The original bathroom is updated, maintaining its location, but completely renewing its image. The same tiling is used on the floor and walls to reinforce the feeling of continuity and visual cleanliness. As a decorative element, blue reappears in the shower area, reinforcing the common thread of the project.

Inside the bathroom there is a small laundry area, separated by a light door that allows both spaces to be made independent without losing continuity. This corner is fully integrated thanks to the use of decorative paper as a background, providing texture and character without overloading the whole.

The master bedroom: serenity facing the sea

In the master bedroom, fully integrated custom wardrobes are designed to make the most of the available space. The distribution combines a chest of drawers with the nightstand, optimizing functionality without losing visual lightness.

The main wall is covered with a linear design wallpaper in an ecru tone, which provides a feeling of height and spaciousness. The bed upholstered in cream tones, accompanied by soft textiles and Mediterranean-inspired lighting, completes a serene and welcoming atmosphere.

A new Mediterranean lifestyle

The result is an open, bright and calm home, where each design decision seeks to reinforce the connection with the sea. The combination of warm materials, chromatic continuity and new distribution generate a relaxed and contemporary atmosphere.

A second life for this apartment that now breathes light, calm and Mediterranean character, offering a new way of living facing the sea.
